Mission Studies Center

This center is designed to plan for and supervise the training of workers for service under sending agencies of the church. This includes guiding programs of study in missional leadership and coordinating scholarship funds to benefit students preparing for mission with Mennonite agencies.

The Mission Studies Center is a cooperative venture among AMBS, Christian Witness Council (MC Canada), Mennonite Mission Network (MC USA), and Mennonite Central Committee.

As the assignment for which the student is preparing begins to take shape, a program of study is tailored which takes into account the background of the student and the nature of the assignment.

This program may include both courses in the AMBS curriculum and study in other schools and universities, sometimes also special intensive seminars or courses.

Since 1993 Mission Studies Center has produced Mission Focus: Annual Review.

The Center also offers scholarships for internships in mission, and scholarships arranged in cooperation with sponsoring agencies for international students to study at AMBS who are recommended by their churches, which are usually related to Mennonite and Brethren in Christ agencies.
